Become a certified, equipped and recognised DPO
Law No. 2024/017 makes the data protection officer an unavoidable role, and Cameroon is short of trained professionals. The programme prepares you for both ways of making a living from it: being hired as an organisation's DPO, or building your own outsourced practice.

Appointing a data protection officer is required, and penalties have applied since the deadline passed on 23 June 2026.
The skills are missing
Few professionals command Cameroonian law, security and the conduct of a prior-formality file at once. Demand far exceeds supply.

Two paths, one certification
In Europe a data protection officer works either inside one organisation or for several at once. Cameroonian law opens both. The programme prepares you for either — the choice is yours, at the end.
Read this before any figure: Conformia promises no income, no job and no clients. What the programme guarantees is training, a verifiable certification and professional tooling. What you make of it depends on your market and your work.
In-house DPO — being hired
Law No. 2024/017 makes the data protection officer an unavoidable role in banking, insurance, telecoms, healthcare and large companies. This certification positions you for those posts: Cameroonian law, professional tooling and real practice on cases.
An employer can check your certificate in the public directory: final examination passed, syllabus available, date of issue.
Outsourced DPO — building a practice
As in Europe, an outsourced DPO serves several organisations at once — the law allows it and the market demands it. The programme teaches you both the profession and the practice: audit methodology, drafting policies, running the client relationship, prospecting and pricing.
You leave with marked deliverables, a multi-client workspace on the platform, and prospecting tools provided.
We do not publish pay ranges on this page. Cameroon's DPO market is too young for us to hold observations we could source, and we would rather say nothing than put forward figures nobody can check. They will appear here when a named study supports them.
The same goes for the number of organisations covered by the law and the sectors that are hiring: those numbers circulate, but we will publish none of them before we have a source you can verify.
The course: 5 weeks, hybrid format
Module 1 — The law of 2024/017
Obligations article by article, prior formalities, sensitive data, transfers, penalties. Assessed by multiple choice (80% minimum).
Module 2 — Mastering the platform
Register, filings, consent, data subject requests, impact assessments, vendors and the compliance pack, on a practice workspace. Assessed by case study.
Module 3 — Consulting methodology
Two-day gap audit, remediation plan, drafting policies, awareness training, the DPO's ethics and independence. Marked deliverables.
Module 4 — Building the practice
Packaged offer, prospecting on WhatsApp, LinkedIn and in person, running the first meeting, pricing, objections. A prospecting plan you defend.
What the registration fee covers (100,000 FCFA)
- The five weeks of training and the "Conformia Certified DPO — level 1" certification, after a final examination.
- Three months of access to a multi-client practice workspace on the platform, then partner pricing.
- Your entry in the public directory of certified DPOs, checkable by an employer or a client.
- The commercial proposal kit: quotation templates, engagement letter, outsourced DPO contract.
- Prospecting tools provided, and the sequences to use them.
- Ninety days of support: weekly pipeline review, advice hotline, and we sit in on your first two meetings.
- For those admitted, favourable platform partnership terms, set out in the contract handed over on admission.
Selection
We are recruiting sellers as much as lawyers: lawyers and associates, auditors, accountants, security officers and IT professionals, independent consultants, and graduates with a commercial streak. Application file, then a twenty-minute interview with a practical exercise. Places are limited per session.
